Breaking barriers playing non traditional TV roles, first Japanese Radio City Rockette, growing up in the mormon faith and captivating audiences one step at a time.
Michiko is a current SAG AFTRA working TV/Film actor and former professional Dancer with the RADIO CITY ROCKETTE in NYC! A native of Kyoto, Japan and raised in Denver, CO, she speaks both languages and attended school in both countries. She grew up as the only Asian in the local Denver Public School system and her cultural awareness and uniqueness became apparent at the age of 5 when she entered the Dance and Classical Piano world, winning many national titles and competitions! As a young talent, she was accepted into the Colorado Ballet Dance Company and hired as a non union musical theater performer at a Equity Dinner Theater in Denver, CO at the age of 17! She then attended college at Brigham Young University-Hawaii campus with a degree in Business and Hospitality (YAY to Free Tuition and Beach Houses!!)
She moved to NYC to pursue her Broadway Dream which came true in 2004 performing over a year in the Hit Tony Award Winning Musical Revival 42ND STREET! She has had a full dance career as a RADIO CITY ROCKETTE @ RADIO CITY, MISS SAIGON TOUR, NOREWEGIAN CRUISES, OFF BROADWAY SHOWS such as The Clurman Theater, Theater Row, Actors Temple and The Barrow Group Theater with Yangtze Rep Theater Co and many Regional Theaters across the US!
She has made a seamless transition acting into TV and Film, currently Recurring as Dr. Amy Ko on FBI MOST WANTED (CBS) and as Trish on MANIFEST (NBC). Other shows include, RAY JAMES (Apple TV), NEW AMSTERDAM (NBC), BLACKLIST (NBC), BULL (CBS), FBI (CBS) and POWER (STARZ) to name a few!
